Polk County accepting Community Betterment Grant Applications

Polk County, Iowa will be accepting Community Betterment Grant and Sponsorship Applications December 1, 2023 through February 28, 2024. Please review the grant portal at https://apps.polkcountyiowa.gov/communityGrants for information.

Polk County has a rich history of partnering with public and private entities to provide effective programs and services to our community. The Board of Supervisors applauds your efforts to enhance the lives of those living in Polk County, Iowa.

The Polk County Community Betterment Grant Program was designed to provide financial support to non-profit organizations that promote cultural, recreational, educational, and essential human services to our residents. The Community Betterment Grant awards will be reviewed in the range of $500 to $10,000.

The Polk County Community Sponsorship Program was designed to provide one-time financial support to non-profit organizations for events such as fundraisers, festivals, and galas. The Community Sponsorship Grant requests will be reviewed in the range of $500 to $5,000.

No exceptions will be made for late submissions.

If your organization is awarded a Community Betterment Grant or Sponsorship award the applicant is required to provide a final report. The report must include invoices, receipts, and copies of payment methods to support Polk County grant expenditures. Polk County will not recognize cash payments, checks made out to individuals or Venmo transactions.
